After training as a physician, Robert L. Knechtel, JD, MD went to law school. Dr. Knechtel has 29 years experience working with individuals and companies as an intellectual property attorney, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, licensing, and technology transfers. His work has been principally in the medical arts. Dr. Knechtel also has 20 years experience working on client FDA and FTC matters. He further has experience in the import/export of medical devices and pharmaceuticals.

Along the way, Dr. Knechtel has been involved with several startups where he was either a co-founder or outside general counsel. During his career, Dr. Knechtel has spent, on two different occasions, time working as in-house General Counsel.

Dr. Knechtel is a registered patent attorney and licensed in the State of Michigan. He limits his practice to questions of federal law.
